Bata Shoe Museum: Every Step A Lotus

This special exhibition at the Bata Shoe Museum focus on the tiny, elegantly embroidered footwear created for the bound feet of Late Qing Dynasty women. These exquisite pieces tell the story of continuing family values and evolving identities in the lives of Chinese women. Developed according to the plan of a Chinese courtyard house, the collections have been organized into a series of thematic room vignettes and interpretive components.
