National Currency Travelling Exhibit: In the Money

This bilingual travelling exhibit explores the history of currency from the introduction of money in China to the development of Canada’s new polymer bill series. It had its debut at the Currency Museum in Ottawa coinciding with the release of the first 3 designs of Canada’s new money series. The exhibit was to target currency enthusiasts and collectors, as well as family and school groups. It was important to not only allow close-up inspection of both front and back of artifacts, but to also ensure an engaging atmosphere. It also needed to be easily broken down into smaller components for ease of transportation, re-configuration and installation.
