This collection presents the rarest-of-the-rare in stamps – a complete collection of US stamps up to 1925, when the collection as donated to the New York Public Library. The Miller Collection is renowned for being comprehensive, rare, and precious. It includes the remarkable “one cent Z grille” a prototypical stamp of the nineteenth century. Only two such stamps exist, one in the Miller collection. To highlight the rarity of the collection, Reich+Petch used the design theme of “opening the vault” to add drama and popular appeal.
