The new Donor Wall at the Canadian Museum of History, designed by R+P, is striking, inviting, and contemporary, and complements the materials and aesthetic of the Museum space. Interactive digital components help demonstrate the impact of donor support and allow for the addition of donors and gifts. R+P designed a system that recognizes the donors on engraved and digital signage as well as in artistic form. Above the contributor names, sculptural curves are introduced to symbolize the ripple effects of the donor’s collective contribution — the higher it goes, the curvier the sculptural pieces become. The undulating, curvilinear forms also echo the design language of the building’s interior and exterior, creating harmony between the installation and the site.
