Natural History Museum of Los Angeles: Age of Mammals Gallery

This gallery has been awarded the 2011 AAM Excellence in Exhibition Award for “an extraordinary job in distilling incredibly complex content into six visitor friendly words: Continents Move, Climates Change, Mammals Evolve”.
The challenge was to create a contemporary gallery while respecting the historically important character and details of the space. This was achieved with a very open free-flow design utilizing glass as a display medium and allowing uninterrupted views of the spectacular fossil specimens.
