This dramatic design reveals the historic collections and architecture of the Smithsonian. Innovative settings of specimens, multimedia and interpretation are composed with the building architecture to create discovery-learning environments unique to the museum. Distinct installations showcase mammals’ adaptations to unique environments. Like modern theatre sets the specimens are posed on minimal platforms with only essential environmental features. This project has been awarded 14 prestigious design awards.
