The Aquarium at World Museum Liverpool is part of a suite of life sciences galleries. Given the age of the building and the structure required, large tanks were not an option. Using smaller tanks, interactive areas and rich interpretation, a hybrid Aquarium/Science Centre environment was created. Here, visitors can learn about the exotic creatures of the tropics, the northwest sea coast, the teaming life of local rivers and the fragile ecosystem of the Mercy sand flats.
